Lasagne

Slow-cooked beef and pork ragù with white wine and oregano, layered with egg pasta and topped with our creamy béchamel sauce.

Lasagne

What makes this dish different

We take pride in testing our recipes until they’re just right. That's how we found the perfect balance of pork and beef for our slow-cooked ragu, and how we discovered that white (rather than red) wine, plus a dash of balsamic vinegar of Modena, makes this dish delicious. With an extra layer of creamy bechamel hidden amongst the five layers of egg pasta, there’s a lot that goes into our much-loved Lasagne.

How to cook

This recipe is made with some raw ingredients and isn’t suitable for microwaving, so please follow these cooking instructions carefully.

Preheat your oven to 200°C/180°C fan/gas mark 7. (Be careful not to grill by mistake!).

Remove the film but leave the lasagne in its wooden tray*.

Place on a baking tray in the centre of the oven and cook for 35 minutes.Leave to stand for 2 minutes before serving. Make sure it’s piping hot throughout. If frozen, defrost thoroughly before cooking.

*Our wooden trays are designed for the oven, just make sure they don’t touch the element or gas flame.

Bighams The Best - Just eaten your Mexican Chilli and it was delicious. So tasty but not too spicy- just how we like it.

Delish food. We have had a couple of Charlie's dishes, only found them recently namely the Paella (twice) which were thoroughly enjoyable and we thought good value for money

Just eaten a Chicken & Mushroom Fresh Pastry Pie and it was just so tasty. Okay a bit pricey but at a different level to the lower price point pies. A really good balance of chicken, mushroom and brilliant sauce. The fresh pastry sets it apart too.

Beverley

Best moussaka outside of Greece! How refreshing to have a moussaka that is solid and not sloppy, like most supermarket varieties! Really authentic flavours ... simply love it!

Love the little crispy potatoes on top of the spicy chicken. Why on earth bother to go out to eat!! We make each of Charlies meals a special occasion.

These steak and ale pies are the business, for supermarket products they can't be faulted, we've tried other Charlie Bighams products thoroughly enjoyed them all.

CB’s are some of the best ready meals I’ve tried, often as good as home cooking… the macaroni cheese I’ve just had is actually better than my own!

Brian

Charlie's ready meals are the best I have ever eaten. The meatballs Al Forno are the best I have had outside of Florence and New York.

Really enjoy your fish pies, lots of chunky pieces of fish in a very tasty sauce

I’m always looking for ways to make everything we do even better, so if you have any ideas, I’d love to hear what you think.
