All the beef in our recipes is just what you’d expect it to be: top-notch, British and 100% cow. Here’s what Charlie has to say on the matter…

“Like you, I am horrified by the events as they are unfolding: it really is quite shocking. I would like to reassure you that we take huge care and pride in all the food we buy, are rigorous with selecting the suppliers we work with and never choose our ingredients with price as the primary concern.

“As such I would like to reassure you all that there never has been – and never will be – any horse meat (or any other unsavoury ingredient) in food with my name on it. We only ever use fresh British beef, sourced from suppliers we know and trust.

“I’m very pleased to say that all our meat can be fully traced back to the farm it came from and all our suppliers carry out their own testing on a regular basis. In addition we have just got the results back from our own voluntary testing on our dishes and as expected NO horse meat was found.”
